About me

Hi! I’m Jamie. I’ve been on a personal and professional journey in holistic health for 14 years.

In my early 20s I started experiencing debilitating symptoms that disrupted all areas of my life. Several years of poor diet choices and excessive alcohol consumption (aka college) had caused my body to meltdown and I truly felt like I might die if I didn’t find some answers. I had no health insurance and when a few out of pocket doctors visits provided no information, I had to start seeking elsewhere. My first stop was the bookshelf at my local Whole Foods. From there, I immersed myself in nutritional wisdom and alternative healing practices, found some great teachers to guide my journey and began to see a dramatic improvement in my health, skin, energy and even my mental well-being.

I was so inspired by the transformation I experienced, I wanted to learn everything I could about this crazy ‘alternative medicine.’ I dedicated my life and career to natural health and since 2006 I’ve been on a journey of physical and spiritual growth studying nutrition, yoga, herbalism, Ayurveda, meditation, and just about every healing modality you can think of. During this time, I’ve worked for amazing companies as a wellness director, coach and educator. I’ve worked with clients in groups and one-on-one and have been privileged to witness hundreds of people empower themselves with tools and information, find relief from nagging symptoms or chronic conditions and finally live well in a world that seems intent on making us numb and sick and dependent on a broken medical system.

My lifestyle may seem extreme to many, but after losing my health so dramatically and spending years battling eating disorders and low self-confidence, I have a deep resolve to feeling healthy and comfortable in my skin, to having the energy to enjoy my life and to live a lifestyle that honors nature and supports the health of our planet. That being said, I also live in the real world and I want to hang here for the foreseeable future. I still live a very normal life, I don’t ALWAYS feel GREAT, but I make choices to support my health while enjoying all the world has to offer. I understand the challenges you may be up against as you navigate between wanting to look and feel your best while also indulging in life’s pleasures. Striking this balance is totally possible and it actually enhances the whole dang experience in a way that would astonish you.

I’m an activist at heart and when I see a problem in the world, I feel compelled to shine a light on it and share my perspective on how we can fix it. To me, there is no better or more important way to solve so many of the complicated issues we face than to get back to basics and take excellent care of our bodies (and minds and spirits). I believe health and wellness should be accessible to all people regardless of where they live or how much money they have. Nature is truly universal healthcare and it’s my greatest passion in life to be a part of the change that shifts our world into supporting true wellness for all people.

I’m originally from Suburban New York but currently living that cliché wellness life in Los Angeles. You’re likely to find me at yoga, Erewhon, hiking and if it’s a Saturday in the fall, watching Michigan football – Go Blue!
